Wine Review: Tres Sabores Ingrid & Julia Rosé

Review by Victoria Vulgamore

It’s Bachelorette season! And for those that don’t know, this means that most of my Monday nights will consist of feasting with friends, watching grown men make asses of themselves, and drinking lots and lots of wine. This week, I picked up a rosé that is fairly new to the shop — if I worked anywhere else this probably would have been a risky move, but I trust that if Terra selects a wine for the store, it must be worth the gamble. As an avid white wine and rosé drinker, this one struck me as a perfect compromise to bring to a predominately red-drinking group.

If you’ve ever brought a bottle to a gathering, you know that there’s always a divide between the white wine drinkers and those who prefer red. So when I saw that the Tres Sabores Rosé is made with Petite Syrah and Zinfandel, I figured this wine would bridge the gap between our white and red preferences. At first glance this rosé looks like any regular fruity bev, however, once you inhale, sip, and swish, you find that a few things are happening. With slight baking spice and strawberry on the nose, as you continue to sip, you continue to pinpoint new flavors that might not be so typical of rosé. While you start out with a bit of cinnamon and berries, the palette transforms into that of stone fruits like peach and apricot.

This rosé would be the perfect pairing with any charcuterie board. It has the ability to compliment sweet, tart, and bold flavors. However, my perfect meal with Tres Sabores would be goat cheese and ripe apricot on toasted sourdough. Drizzle some honey on top and you have the perfect pairing.

However, during the Bachelorette season premiere, we paired this fine wine with oreos. . . and it was fantastic!
