ExperTEAS
We are starting off the new year with a new series called “ExperTEAS” 🫖 We will be sharing some tea knowledge while providing journaling prompts that correlate with the respective tea! This month we want to focus on wellness and self reflection so without further ado. . .
Our first tea of the series is the beautiful Turmeric Tranquility ☕️ Made from South African rooibos, or “red bush”, this mixture holds a beautiful combination of turmeric, ginger, cinnamon, and cloves. Turmeric has anti-inflammatory properties and the rooibos settles and upset stomach resulting in the perfect detox tisane. This tea is delicious on its own, or find it in our decadent Sea of Tranquility tea latte.

Oolongs are among the most complex teas to process and their breadth of flavors makes the oolong similar to tasting wines, with a wide range of flavors and expressions. Our cream oolong comes from the high mountains of Taiwan, from the Jin Xuan tea plant, with the characteristics of buttered popcorn and honeydew. Try it Eastern style, and steep multiple times to experience the full range of creamy, silky flavors.

Another week, another ExperTEAS 🫖 Today we are focusing on Golden Nepal Tips. From the high elevation of Nepal, this tea is carefully processed: producing a complex tea to sip and savor like wine, no milk and sugar needed. The high elevation slows the growth of the leaves and increases the complexity in the cup, with notes of caramel, honey, and toasted almonds.

Another ExperTEAS coming your way! This Sunday we will be learning a little bit about matcha 🍵If you’re not familiar with matcha, it’s a Japanese green tea powder made from finely ground tea leaves. It has been a cornerstone of traditional Japanese tea ceremonies for centuries but has recently become popular in the West because of its wide range of health benefits. Loaded with antioxidants and more caffeine than your usual green tea, it’s a great substitute for coffee! Try it traditional, whisked into hot water, or have it as a latte with steamed milk and some French vanilla for fun 😌

More notes on some of our amazing teas…
WHITE PEONY: From the Fujian Province in China, this is a delicious introduction to the world of white tea. White teas are essentially baby tea leaves, with minimal processing compared to other teas, resulting in a fine and delicate tea, encouraging you to be mindful of the subtle flavors in each cup. Silky, fragrant, and loaded with antioxidants, mindfully sip and savor like a fine wine.
GREEN DRAGON: This is a great introduction to traditional Chinese pan-fired green teas. Strategically done by hand in large woks, this laborious process results in a prominent nutty flavor. With notes of fresh greens and toasted chestnuts, this tea is easy to sip and enjoy on its own or serve with your favorite Asian cuisine.
JASMINE SILVER TIPS (JASMINE YIN HAO): Delicate Chinese silver tip green tea from the Fujian Province, scented with jasmine blossoms. Fresh, floral, and light.
