Wine Review: Moric Hidden Treasures No. 3 (Balaton Riesling/Furmint)

Balaton Riesling/Furmint

Who is looking for one of B+B’s “Hidden Treasures”? This one is for the acid hounds out there who like a wine that they can’t get their nose out of the glass. Let me introduce you to Moric Hidden Treasures No. 3!!  Moric is an Austrian producer under the direction of Roland Vehlich who  has partnered with a very small yet talented producer that he would like to bring some limelight to. This collab between Moric and Hungarian wine-maker Villa Tolnay is an extremely amazing blend of 50% Riesling & 50% Furmint grown on the volcanic hills around Lake Balaton. This wine is so aromatic that it would pass as a fragrance but has the precision and tension of a lightening bolt that hit the ground right next to you. In my opinion, this is one of the coolest, most delicious wines we have in the shop and something you need to have in your stash ASAP!
